About the Journal

Aims and Scope

Ecole Nationale Polytechnique (ENP) is an academic and research institution where thousands of Engineers and PhDs have been educated during the last 6 decades. Its alumna and alumnus have had a positive impact on industry and science all over the world. ENP aims to disseminate high-quality academic work to contribute to technology and science advances for humanity.

The ENP Engineering Science journal (ENPESJ) is a peer-reviewed open-access journal.  It  publishes reviews and full original research papers covering all aspects of recent advances in engineering dealing with:

  • Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Mechanical and Materials Engineering
  • Civil and Hydraulic Engineering
  • Chemical and Environmental Engineering

The journal would focus also on technology with industry applications, it plans to publish special issues on up-to-date emerging technologies and new research directions. ENPESJ  Promotes Open Science through truly free open access peer-reviewed journal articles.

History

ENPESJ (New ISSN 2716-912X) (formerly named AJOT (Algerian Journal of Technology), Old ISSN 1111-357X ) is a comprehensive academic journal, administrated and sponsored by Ecole Nationale Polyetchnique. It was published irregularly from 1986 to 2013, and will be published biannually from 2021.

Publication Frequency

The ENP Engineering Science Journal is published online with a frequency of two issues per year. Besides that, special issues of ENPESJ will be published non-periodically from time to time.

Editorial Workflow

All submitted manuscripts undergo the following editorial workflow:

Initial Evaluation

Once a manuscript is received, the Editorial Office runs a plagiarism check and screens the manuscript with the help of the Editor-in-Chief to decide whether it should be sent for peer review. The manuscript should be well written and of high quality. The Editorial Office checks the following:

  • Is the manuscript compliant with the journal’s Instructions for Authors?
  • Has the manuscript been submitted or published elsewhere?
  • Does the manuscript fit the journal’s scope?
  • Is the content of the manuscript worth to be reviewed?

If the manuscript fails to meet the journal's requirements, it is immediately rejected.

Peer Review

The manuscripts are then assigned to a Handling Editor by the Editor-in-Chief. The handling editor will send the manuscript to a minimum of 2 reviewers for peer review. Reviewers submit the evaluation results along with their recommendations as one of the following actions:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject & Resubmit
  • Reject

A single-blinded peer-review process is considered in which the reviewers know who the authors are, but the latter do not have access to the information of who the peer reviewers are.

At the end of the year, the ENP Engineering Science journal acknowledges the researchers who have performed the peer-review by publishing the list of the reviewer on its website.

The ENP journal adheres to the guidelines laid out by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and aims to ensure the highest ethical standards of evaluation.

Final Decision

The handling editor is notified once the reviewers have submitted their comments.

The handling editor can provide a recommendation regarding the manuscript if at least two reviews are completed reviews.

He sends his recommendation together with the reviewer comments and recommendations to the Editor-in-Chief.

The Editor-in-Chief delivers and informs the author of the final decision.

If the manuscript is conditionally accepted, authors will be required to revise their manuscript according to the Editor’s suggestions and submit a revised version of their manuscript for further evaluation.
